Support Environmental Champions   

This November, there will be critical northern Pennsylvania races for U.S. Congress, Pennsylvania Senate, and Pennsylvania House.  Protect Northern PA does not endorse environmental champions because there are groups that do that much better than we do, for example, check out conservationvoterspa.org

Prior to each election, go to candidate events and ask questions:

Does the candidate have a vision for Pennsylvania that…

  • embodies the PA Constitution Environmental Rights Amendment

  • reduces the carbon footprint of Pennsylvania

Will the candidate…

  • oppose fracked-gas industrial development

  • oppose tax breaks for fracked-gas industrialization 

  • oppose LNG-for-export

  • support Community Solar 

  • refuse campaign contributions from gas-industry and related companies

  • support grid modernization to reduce carbon sources

  • support reforms to the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code to empower local governments to say no to polluting industries.  

County and Municipal Elections

Let’s hope you do not have County Commissioners and Municipal Officials who are working for gas interests, rather than community interests. But if you do, tap somebody to run for office to replace them or run for office, yourself. If you are uncertain about how to run for an elected position, attend a local seminar on how to run for office or check-out online resources for local government officials and future officials.
